International firm ends Singapore joint law venture

The venture which was formed in 2011 will end after the decision was mutually agreed upon by both firms.

Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has revealed that its Singapore joint law venture with local firm Asia Practice will be terminated.

In a statement sent to Australasian Lawyer, the firm said that the decision was mutually agreed upon by both firms.

The international firm’s venture in Singapore was established in 2011 while WFW itself has had an office in the country since 1998. WFW’s site lists 10 partners in Singapore.

“WFW will continue to provide the high quality service to its clients it is known for and ensure their local law needs continue to be met through our network relationships and contacts,” the UK-headquartered firm said.

The firm says it is “committed to having a strong and active presence in Singapore” as it still considers the country “a key regional hub”.

WFW intends to continue providing service to clients in the transportation, oil & gas, commodities, energy and natural resources and real estate.
