Thomson Geer brings Clifford Chance counsel into partnership

Thomson Geer has welcomed former Clifford Chance counsel Scott Castledine to its partnership.

The seasoned lawyer joined Thomson Geer’s litigation and dispute resolution team in Sydney at the close of last month following a tenure with Clifford Chance that lasted more than three years.

“Thomson Geer is a firm with a fine history and one with a clarity of purpose as to its future,” Castledine said. “I very much look forward to joining the team and contributing to that journey.”

Castledine began his legal career in London as a senior lawyer for British Airways. He then moved to Slaughter and May, where he served as a senior associate for almost nine years.

He has been a senior disputes lawyer for 15 years, specialising in complex commercial litigation, class actions, arbitration, regulatory investigations, enforcement proceedings and contentious insolvency work. He has worked on numerous high-profile, corporate-threatening, and reputational disputes.

Castledine has also represented domestic and international clients, such as multinational corporations, investment and retail banks, private companies, governments, professional services firms, insurers, and company directors. His clients include Herbert Smith Freehills and Deloitte.
