Hall & Wilcox provides M&A advice to disability support company

Hall & Wilcox has advised Victoria-based disability support provider Wallara in its acquisition of the employment business of Brunswick Industries.

The firm provided corporate and commercial mergers and acquisitions advice, disability regulatory advice, and property law assistance as Wallara picked up Brunswick Industries’ employment business and assets, including the transfer of lease and employees. Hall & Wilcox’s legal team was led by corporate and commercial partner Alison Choy Flannigan, who is also co-lead of health and community.

Flannigan was joined by lawyers Jane Baddeley and James Blok. A lawyer among Wallara’s directors also helped advise on the deal’s employment law aspects.

“It was great to work so collaboratively with our client’s in-house team on this not-for-profit M&A deal where the charitable purposes synergies and cultural fit between the parties was important,” Flannigan said.

Wallara supports more than 500 people in 20 sites, providing employment and education.
