US company makes third Australian acquisition with Pinsent Masons’ aid

Pinsent Masons advised an Oregon-based company with its third acquisition in Australia.

The firm counselled S.R. Smith on its purchase of Sunbather, which it said is Australia’s leading manufacturer of solar pool heating and pool covers. S.R. Smith is a global company that makes and markets swimming pool deck equipment.

Pinsent Masons said that it worked closely with the company’s US counsel, Pepper Hamilton, which recently made headlines for confirming it is in merger talks with another US firm. Pinsent Masons and Pepper Hamilton both worked on due diligence and transactional documentation, the international firm said.

The Pinsent Masons team included partner Ewan Robertson, associate Lucy Carter, and lawyer Lisa Meyer. The team advised on M&A and due diligence matters. Partner Katie Williams and lawyer Patrick Williams handled employment aspects of the deal.

Robertson said that the firm is confident the deal will be a “really successful acquisition.” He said that Pinsent Masons looks forward to continuing to work with the client on future matters.
