Senior lawyers boost offerings at Maddocks, Velocity Legal

Maddocks has welcomed Rosemary Marando to its employment team in Sydney as special counsel.

“We have seen a steady increase in demand for our employment services over the last year, and Rosemary’s appointment will be key in ensuring that we continue to offer our clients, and in particular our clients across all three tiers of government, a market leading approach”, CEO David Newman said.

Marando has spent nearly two decades advising employers on all aspects of employment law, particularly in the government sector. She said that she was eager to become part of Maddocks “at a time of great change across the workplace and on the industrial relations front”.

She is expected to tackle industrial relations and termination disputes, flexible working arrangements, discrimination, recruitment, work-related injury claims, contracts, collective and individual employment agreements, labour hire and contractors, common law claims and investigations.

Meanwhile, Velocity Legal has appointed Isobel Feben as a special counsel in its trusts and estates team.

Feben has received the distinction of accredited specialist in wills and estates from the Law Institute of Victoria. She is particularly knowledgeable in the areas of estate disputes and will challenges, estate planning, guardianship and capacity disputes, probate and estate administration, and trust disputes and advice.

She has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide for her work since 2019.
