The environment and planning expert moved from an international rival
MinterEllison has added a new Melbourne partner, who moved from an international firm.
Joshua Dellios has joined the Australian giant from White & Case, where he was most recently a senior associate. He was also previously a senior associate at Herbert Smith Freehills, as well as a consultant at Environmental Resources Management in London.
“As one of Australia's largest legal firms, we've experienced consistent year-on-year growth within our infrastructure, construction and property practice with our environment and planning division a significant contributor to our growth and success,” said Virginia Briggs, the managing partner of MinterEllison’s infrastructure, construction, and property practice. “Joshua will play a key part in continuing that success and further driving the firm's sector and industry strategy.”
Dellios, who is an internationally recognised lawyer and former environmental engineer, has a particular focus on major project approvals, land access and assembly matters, land contamination and environmental compliance and regulatory issues. He has experience working on matters across Australia, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa.
Simon Ball, MinterEllison’s national environment and planning lead partner, said that the appointment reflects the firm’s goal of being the best partner for clients by adding specialists to deeply understand client needs.
“Joshua's previous experience in working as an environmental engineer at one of the world's leading sustainability advisory firms, together with his legal expertise, will bring an unrivalled level of technical and commercial expertise when advising on environmental matters for both private and government clients,” Ball said.
The new partner will focus on major property development, including greenfield and brownfield mixed and residential projects. He will also focus on city changing urban renewal, waste, and major infrastructure, including PPP's, and energy, resources, and extractives projects, MinterEllison said.
