MinterEllison becomes Australia's largest partnership

MinterEllison now has the greatest number of partners of any independent Australian law firm.

The firm has appointed 18 new partners, boosting its partnership to more than 250. The partner promotions come after the firm’s 50-strong senior promotions round.

The latest promotion round is evenly split between men and women. Seven of the new partners are based in Sydney, six in Melbourne, four in Brisbane, and one in Canberra.

The average age of the newly promoted partners is 38. Four of the new partners will work under flexible-working arrangements.

Bruce Cowley, MinterEllison chairman, said that the promotion of a large group of talented lawyers show the calibre of talent the firm has. The promotions also show the firm’s commitment to building capabilities, he said.
