Kain Lawyers beefs up leadership with new directors

Transaction services boutique Kain Lawyers has beefed up its leadership with three new directors in David Mitchell, Brendan Ivers, and Jeremy Collins.

Mitchell joins from PwC as a specialist in M&A and private equity transactions. He has worked on the sale of Better Medical by Fortitude Investment Partners to Livingbridge, the sell down of assets by Murray River Land and Ulupna Pastoral Co to ROC Partners, and the sale of Cowal Agriculture by Global Endowment Management to Macquarie Asset Management.

At Kain Lawyers, he will tackle issues involving private equity, venture capital and real asset investments, and bolt-on acquisitions and exits.

Ivers hails from Hamilton Locke. He has provided guidance on private equity, venture capital, and private credit matters, and has worked with property and real asset fund managers on fund structuring and investment.

Collins comes from a stint at Gadens with a strong background in property transactions, having advised ISPT on the acquisition of 50% of NAB’s head office in Melbourne and the acquisition of 50% of the commercial and retail component of 447 Collins Street. In addition, he has worked in London, and held in-house roles at a major property fund manager in Australia.

Mitchell will be based in Sydney, Ivers in Adelaide and Collins in Melbourne.
