HWL Ebsworth dealmakers seal another major automotive dealerships deal

HWL Ebsworth dealmakers have again acted on a major deal in the automotive dealerships industry in Australia.

The top firm counselled Sime Darby Motors Group Australia on its acquisition of luxury-car dealerships from the Inchape and Trivett group companies for $112m. The dealerships sell BMW, MINI, Volkswagen, Jaguar, and Land Rover vehicles.

Partners Maria Townsend and Anthony Jreige led on the deal, along with associate Alex Beagley and solicitor Louisa Dillon, who were assisted by solicitor Jonathan Yee.

The deal shows Sime Darby’s continuing commitment to its retail presence in the automotive industry in Australia, the firm said. The deal comes after HWL Ebsworth’s work advising the Tony White Group on its $107m acquisition of the business assets of the Kloster Motor Group (KMG) from AP Eagers.

Townsend also headed the team that worked on the KMG acquisition. The team also included Beagley, as well as associate Amy Campbell.
