Hamilton Locke attracts five new partners

Hamilton Locke has attracted five new partners to its Melbourne and Brisbane offices.

The hires hail from various firms and are experts in various practice areas.

Kath Booth joins the Melbourne corporate practice from PwC. She specialises in public and private M&A, corporate fundraising, governance, takeovers, joint ventures, and shareholder arrangements in Australia and the UK.

She is also an expert in matters involving resources, infrastructure projects, renewable energy, private equity, and real estate.

Damien Bourke comes to Hamilton Locke’s tax practice from Holding Redlich. He has over 25 years of experience tackling complex tax and commercial litigation.

He has been involved in matters that involve litigating with various revenue authorities. He has advised on Australian and state revenue disputes, cross-border tax investigations, tax litigation, the management of revenue authority raids, and strategic discussions with tax authorities.

Bourke has handled tax and trust law matters, including those involving the misuse of administrative powers and their review by Federal Court, and advised on malicious prosecution cases as well as misfeasance in public office by taxation officers. He joins the Brisbane office with a team that includes special counsel Joanne Casburn.

Amelia Prokuda comes from Gadens to join Hamilton Locke’s environment and planning practice in Brisbane. She brings experience in matters associated with town planning, infrastructure, and environmental law.

She has acted for property developers, commercial entities, and state and local governments. In addition to handling various property, resources, and infrastructure projects, she has worked on issues involving statutory interpretation, development applications, infrastructure charging regimes, development compliance programs, due diligence, and environmental compliance and liability.

Elena Stojcevski joins Hamilton Locke’s construction and litigation practice in Melbourne from Corrs Chambers Westgarth. As a commercially focused senior litigator, she is a specialist in complex construction and commercial disputes with significant expertise in arbitration, litigation, expert determinations, and dispute resolution boards.

In particular, she is an expert in delay and programming disputes and has headed up these aspects of litigation for clients.

Andrew Vincent joins Hamilton Locke’s finance practice in Melbourne from PwC. He is experienced in matters involving project and infrastructure finance, leveraged finance, acquisition finance, real property finance, corporate finance, and restructuring and insolvency. He has advised on major projects, acquisitions, and workouts in Australia and the UK.

He also logged stints at King & Wood Mallesons in Australia and Allen & Overy in the UK.
