Gordon Dadds in talks to merge with Ince & Co

Merger tipped to create UK’s largest listed law firm

Gordon Dadds in talks to merge with Ince & Co

Gordon Dadds has confirmed that it is in talks to combine with Ince & Co International.

If successful, the merger will create the UK’s largest listed law firm. The combined firm will have annual revenues of £114m and offices in 14 jurisdictions in Europe and Asia, the Law Society Gazette said.

Following a trading halt, Gordon Dadds said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange (LSE) that the boards of both firms are “in discussions to merge the two businesses.”

“The precise structure and mechanics of the transaction are also under discussion and the respective boards are working towards a further announcement as soon as possible,” it said. “There can be no certainty at this time that the merger will proceed and we will update shareholders in due course.”

A Law Society Gazette source described the talks as “advanced,” but no partnership vote has been scheduled yet.

Gordon Dadds raised £20m last year after listing on the Alternative Investment Market of the LSE.

It acquired tax advisory business CW Energy not long after and bought out corporate and technology focused firm Black & White earlier this year. It opened its first international office in Hong Kong in July.
