Gadens adds banking and finance expert from rival

Renae Suttor has joined the Gadens banking and finance team as a partner.

The senior lawyer moved from MinterEllison, where she was a senior associate. Prior to that, she was a senior associate at Clifford Chance.

She brought to Gadens 15 years of top-tier experience in Sydney and London and her expertise in real estate development and investment finance origination and restructuring. She has extensive experience in complex, multi-jurisdictional lending and consensual workouts and restructurings.

“Renae is a fantastic addition to our banking and finance team, further strengthening our national offering for clients. Renae's experience includes having acted for a wide variety of clients, from banks, insurers and alternative lenders, to private equity houses, asset managers and property developers. Renae has significant experience across a broad range of industry sectors, and in particular, has a notable depth of expertise in real estate, hotels and hospitality,” said Grant Scott-Hayward, Gadens’ chief executive.

She will play an integral role in the ongoing, long-term growth and success of the firm’s banking and finance practice, especially in Sydney, the chief executive noted.

“Being a property finance specialist, Gadens’ strength and expertise in the real estate and construction sectors was a real attraction, together with its strong national banking practice and supportive and collaborative culture. I am looking forward to contributing to the future growth of Gadens' Sydney office and the banking and finance team nationally,” Suttor said.
