HSF helps secure Big Four firm as Melbourne redevelopment project anchor tenant

The top accountancy firm has pre-committed to at least 22,000sqm, paving the way for the redevelopment to commence.

Herbert Smith Freehills advised Mirvac on securing Deloitte as its anchor tenant at Mirvac’s redevelopment of Olderfleet Place at 477 Collins Street in Melbourne.

The tenancy pre-commitment of at least 22,000sqm allows the much awaited redevelopment to get off the ground. The existing building will be redeveloped as one of Melbourne’s leading smart office towers, comprising more than 55,000sqm of office space.

The Herbert Smith Freehills team was led by partner Jane Hodder and supported by senior associate Dinh Ptok. Disputes Partners Geoffrey Hansen and Peter Holloway assisted with providing advice to Mirvac on the existing tenancies as well as protection works, relating to the demolition works for the existing building and tenancies.

Jane Hodder said the firm was extremely pleased to have worked with Mirvac and help ensure a successful outcome.

“We are delighted that Mirvac will now be able to proceed with plans to create one of Melbourne’s leading smart office towers. The innovative redevelopment plans to incorporate the benefits of contemporary design while ensuring the 1880s façade of the Olderfleet building remains,” Hodder said.
