Promotions round beefs up Clyde & Co's Australia partnership

Clyde & Co has promoted three Australian lawyers to partner in its latest global promotions round.

Melissa Tang is the newest partner in the energy, marine and natural resources practice, She focusses on complex multi-jurisdictional disputes and regulatory matters.

James Rigney is part of the global insurance practice in Sydney, particularly the financial lines team and the construction professional indemnity offering. Luke O’Kane is also with the global insurance team, bringing expertise in general and complex personal injury, general liability, historic sexual abuse and property damage; he officially became a partner in January.

The firm also elevated the following five lawyers to special counsel:

  • Claudia Dennison – Brisbane (insurance - technology and media)
  • Jacky Li – Sydney (insurance - technology and media)
  • Stuart Lloyd – Sydney (insurance - technology and media)
  • William Barrington – Sydney (projects and construction)
  • Hannes Marais – Brisbane (insurance - professional and financial disputes)

Australian managing partner Rebecca Kelly said that the promoted lawyers “represent the next generation of senior talent within the firm”.

The promotions take effect from 1 May.
