Thomson Geer bolsters corporate and M&A team

Thomson Geer has strengthened its corporate and M&A team with the appointment of a new partner.

The firm has welcomed Matthew Reynolds to the partnership. He moved from HWL Ebsworth, where he was a partner for 13 years.

While Reynolds will be based in Brisbane, Thomson Geer confirmed that he will also work out of Sydney and will have a team in the New South Wales capital.

He is a specialist in M&A, debt and equity capital markets, private equity, and corporate advisory. He has extensive experience in advising clients in the energy and resources, technology, health, agriculture, construction, infrastructure, retail and manufacturing sectors.

Adrian Tembel, Thomson Geer chief executive partner, said that the partnership is excited to welcome Reynolds. His experience and reputation in the equity capital markets space in particular complement the skills and experience of the firm’s corporate and M&A team, Tembel said.

Thomson Geer now has 98 partners and about 500 people working out of offices Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

The firm recruited tax specialist Ron Jorgensen in Melbourne in May. In April, the firm welcomed partner Arthur Koumoukelis and his team in Sydney.
