The standard bearers influencing the Australian legal profession in 2023

The Australian legal profession is an ever-evolving, dynamic market, and Australasian Lawyer’s  2023 cohort of Most Influential Lawyers reflects this. From changemakers looking for reform to supporters of workers’ rights and forces of innovation, this year’s batch has it all.

Advantage Legal principal solicitor and Changemaker Leigh Davidson is focused on the reformation of workers’ compensation schemes. He is particularly passionate about cyclists, as evidenced by his work with recreational cycling organisation Bicycle NSW.

Meanwhile, Young Influencer Andrew Jewell, principal and co-founder of Jewell Hancock Employment Lawyers, is a champion of workers’ rights. He’s opting to tackle cases on the leading edge of changing societal trends, such as disputes and alleged wrongdoings on social media.

Quantum Law Group managing partner and founder Zile Yu has long been an advocate for innovation in the profession, and he continues to find new ways to leverage tech to benefit the industry. Today, he is the youngest College of Law lecturer in the legal practice management course for senior lawyers and partners.
