The firm grows in Brisbane with the addition of a planning and environment litigator

Keypoint Law adds another seasoned lawyer

Keypoint Law has welcomed Sonia Whitehouse as a consulting principal in Brisbane.

The seasoned lawyer, as specialist in planning and environment litigation, has extensive experience helping developers and private clients to navigate planning and other regulatory approval processes.

She moves to the firm from Brisbane boutique HWS Lawyers, where she was director. She was also previously a senior associate at Barry.Nilsson.

“Sonia brings first-class expertise in environment and planning to the firm, and adds further depth to our strong litigation practice,” said Warren Kalinko, Keypoint chief executive.

“We are delighted to have Sonia join us in Brisbane as we continue to grow our team of talented and client-focused lawyers,” he said.

Whitehouse represents clients in originating applications in the Planning and Environment Court and on appeals from that Court. Also acts in prosecution defence of planning and environment cases.

“After more than 8 years of running my own legal services business, I expected that it would be difficult to find the right workplace that would allow me the luxury of flexibility in the workplace whilst still providing clients with a first-class service,” Whitehouse said.

“My expectations were proving to be correct until I was introduced to Keypoint Law. It is clear to me that Keypoint Law is committed to providing clients with a premium service and lawyers with a comfortable work environment, uninterrupted by convention and tradition,” she said.

The appointment comes after Keypoint Law attracted two senior corporate lawyers in Melbourne and Sydney earlier this month. The firm also recently welcomed a construction and commercial litigation expert in Melbourne.
