In-house Leaders 2019

Leong has brought to The Benevolent Society (TBS) her unfailing dedication to help advance the organisational vision of a just society where all Australians can live their best life. She’s been instrumental in working with the board and executive members to establish and bring clarity to managing legal risk while simultaneously promoting and protecting human rights through the practice of law. She does so within a rights-based framework which has captured the hearts and minds of the organisation at every level. Leong’s rights-based legal practices have given room to many influential developments. This comprises the launch of projects designed to help address pockets of severe social disadvantage in Australia including a legal referral pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities with Gilbert + Tobin. You will often fine Leong on the front-seat voicing concern and offering suggestions to, or being consulted on, issues facing the not-for-profit and human services sectors.
