Lander & Rogers
Australia’s Employer of Choice 2019

Recognising the importance of learning and knowledge in its innovative culture, Lander & Rogers (L&R) launched an innovation education series, BeVital. Experts share the latest concepts in technology, innovation and law through in-house learning events, videos, infographics and articles.

In August 2018, ‘Wellness @ Landers’, its internal wellness strategy, started a year-long program focused on resilience — the ability to bounce back from adversity. Partnering with The Resilience Project, it launched an Employee Resilience Program, and welcomed its founder to present his evidenced-based, practical strategies to build resilience and happiness. The program won the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Award for Wellness Initiative of the Year 2019 and the Australasian Law Awards 2019 for Excellence in Employee Health and Wellbeing.

In Melbourne, L&R recruit approximately 30-35 seasonal clerks annually. Historically, the firm has then recruited its graduates from this pool of candidates — taking on 10-12 graduates every year. In Sydney, the firm goes to market to recruit approximately six graduates annually. It recently updated the recruitment process for its Seasonal Clerk program to be more progressive — in line with the firm's focus on technology and innovation — and now includes psychometric testing and video interviewing tools.
