Women in Law summit says ‘time’s up’ on sexual harassment

Hollywood kickstarted a revolution with the #metoo campaign, giving women the much-needed chance to speak out against sexism and harassment – but can the same be said for the legal sector?

The official figures are low but from anecdotal evidence, sexual harassment is ‘grossly underreported’, according to a recent news story. Indeed it’s because there is a view that it would be career suicide to make an allegation of sexual harassment or abuse against another lawyer in the workplace.

So, this is one of the big issues that will be discussed at Sydney’s upcoming Women in Law Summit – a powerful industry event from Australasian Lawyer where high-profile thought-leaders will tackle a packed agenda of topics relating to career advancement for women in law.
