Two make principal solicitor at KHQ Lawyers

KHQ Lawyers has promoted Gina Capasso and Claire Brown to principal solicitor.

The duo, who are both in the firm’s workplace relations and safety group, were promoted from special counsel and will begin in their new roles at the start of July.

“Gina and Claire are practitioners of the highest calibre, and the firm is delighted to recognise their achievements,” said David Kelly, managing director.

Capasso moved to KHQ in October 2016 after a combined 20 years at Ashurst and Gadens. She was tasked to be one of the leaders of the firm’s safety team and has played a key role in growing the practice, the firm said.

Capasso said that she is grateful for the enduring support of clients and colleagues and is excited to “share the next stage of learning to provide solutions to the myriad workplace employment and safety challenges faced by businesses.”

Brown started at KHQ in 2014 as a trainee lawyer, bringing with her extensive experience in industrial relations and human resources in a range of companies in several sectors, including AMMA and Linfox Armaguard.

She is the first lawyer at the firm to rise from graduate level to principal solicitor. “She has charted her own unique path from industry into the law and has been a key operator in KHQ’s market-leading success in industrial strategy and employment litigation,” the firm said.

Kelly said that it is impressive how Capasso and Brown have gained key external market recognition in renowned legal directories.

“Their promotions will elevate both the team and the firm as a whole,” he said.
