Two lawyers elevated to partnership at commercial firm
Hicksons Lawyers elevated two of its lawyers to the firm’s partnership, with Jennifer Parkes and Quincy Wong assuming their new roles on 1 July.

The firm has also announced the promotion of a new senior associate and three associates. It also revealed it is moving its Sydney office to an up-and-coming financial and professional services hub in the city.

Parkes, who’s based in Newcastle, specialises in employment, industrial, and workplace health and safety issues, with a particular focus on discrimination, bullying, and harassment in the workforce. Parkes, who joined the firm in 2006, also focuses on workplace law in the higher education sector.

Hicksons said that Parkes’s promotion shows the firm’s commitment to its growing client base in Newcastle and the firm’s need to diversify in the region.

Wong, who’s based in Sydney, is an expert in the information technology and intellectual property sectors. A registered trademark attorney and a Harvard-trained negotiator and mediator, Quincy joined the firm in 2007, advising on the firm’s most complex matters since then.

The firm has also announced the promotion of Susannah Fricke to senior associate in Sydney. Promoted to associates are Cindy Shum and Samantha Townsend in Newcastle, and Patrick Hodgetts in Sydney.

Later this month, the firm is moving its office in Sydney to Barangaroo, which is becoming the new financial and professional services hub in Sydney. The firm is moving into One International Tower Sydney.
