Clayton Utz has appointed tax specialist Peter Feros as a new partner based in its Sydney office.

Feros joins Clayton Utz from Gilbert + Tobin which he joined in 2008 as a partner. Before Gilbert + Tobin, he was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“Peter's experience in front-end corporate tax work nicely complements our tax disputes capability, as does his track record of acting for a diverse range of clients, particularly those engaged in domestic and cross-border M&A and related transactions,” said Clayton Utz national tax practice group leader Andrew Sommer.

“Peter's reputation as a dynamic and energetic adviser with a focus on client service is also why he will be an asset to our team and have a leading role in continuing to grow the presence and reputation of the Clayton Utz tax practice.”

Feros specialises in providing strategic front-end income tax advice to financial sponsors and listed Australian corporates and multinationals, with a focus on M&A and fund structuring.

His key clients cover technology, communications, financial services, private equity and hedge and property funds.
“In what is a highly competitive and largely undifferentiated market for tax services in Australia, our aim is to cement Clayton Utz as the unquestionable choice for clients seeking tax advice on their most important and strategic matters,” Feros said.

He finished his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics at Macquarie University and his Master of Laws at The University of Sydney.
