State-wide firm expands with regional merger

State-wide firm Carroll & O’Dea has expanded its Newcastle reach with a local firm-merger.

The 11-office-firm has merged with Fatches Lawyers in Port Stephens, a 30-year-old local firm.

“Carroll & O'Dea is committed to enhancing our already strong presence across NSW and our national reach,” Newcastle head partner David Jones told Australasian Lawyer.

“The merger with Fatches is part of our commitment to delivering high quality legal services at a local level.  People get the best of both worlds - a local approach backed by the resources and breadth of skill of a 115 year old firm.”

The merger aligns with the firm’s strategic expansion into regional areas, providing metropolitan legal services.

“Our priority is to continue to look for opportunities to strengthen and improve the access to high quality legal services, no matter where people live,” said Jones.

“We believe that people should be able to benefit from access to the experience and skills of one of NSW's premier firms.”

Carroll & O’Dea is a dedicated regional firm, travelling regularly to regional and country areas.

“The merger will enable us to have a dedicated full time office in Port Stephens as well as strengthening our existing operation in Newcastle with the addition of the experienced and highly skilled Fatches team,” said managing partner Howard Harrison.

“It is a point of difference that our clients, particularly across regional and rural NSW, respond to and appreciate.”
