The appointment shows how the firm is responding to client needs
Michelle Asimus has joined Squire Patton Boggs (SPB) in Sydney.
Asimus, who was appointed as of counsel, moves from Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF), where she was most recently a special counsel in the corporate funds group. She began as a graduate clerk in 2005 at Hong Kong legal giant Deacons, which she left in 2008 for UK-based global firm Pinsent Masons. She moved to NRF in 2012.
Asimus advises fund managers on the structuring, formation, promotion, and operation of investment funds. Her clients are focused on a range of asset classes, such as real estate, infrastructure, private equity, and agribusiness assets.
At NRF, she advised clients on investments in real assets and also on the formation of wholesale investment funds and other collective investment vehicles, SPB said.
At Pinsent Masons in London, she advised fund managers on fund formations and capital raisings, as well as assisted large institutional investors with their investments into both onshore and offshore funds and other collective arrangements.
Campbell Davidson, SPB’s Australian managing partner, said Asimus’ background and experience is very aligned with the firm’s existing client base. The appointment shows how the firm is responding to client needs, Davidson said.
