Sparke Helmore lures Lee & Lyons partner

Sydney-based insurance and risk management lawyer Chris Wood has departed Lee & Lyons to join the partnership at Sparke Helmore

Sydney-based insurance and risk management lawyer Chris Wood has departed Lee & Lyons to join the partnership at law firm Sparke Helmore.

A former founding partner of McCabes where he spent 18 years, Wood joins Sparke Helmore as head of the group’s professional indemnity and liability teams.

Wood was formerly head of McCabes’ insurance division. He moved across to Lee and Lyons as a partner in 2010, where he specialised in providing coverage and liability advice to insurers on building and construction, engineering and infrastructure claims.

Sparke Helmore national managing partner Jesse Webb said the firm is deliberately targeting lawyers of Wood’s calibre as it seeks to impress clients with a high level of talent and performance.

Senior associates Wes Rose and Laura Rush moved to Sparke Helmore with Wood.
