Seven Aussie lawyers promoted to Big Six’s global partnership

Almost half of Ashurst’s newest partners are from the Asia Pacific region, with a seven-strong group representing Australia.

The Big Six firm announced 19 new partners across nine offices, with 53% coming from Europe and 47% coming from Asia Pacific. The UK and Australia – which includes offices in Brisbane, Perth, and Sydney – have seven promotions apiece.

Most of the new partners come from the corporate division of the firm (42%), followed by finance (32%) and disputes (26%). The practice groups with the most new partners are banking and corporate, with four partners each.
