Colin Biggers & Paisley has expanded its team in Brisbane with a transport and government law.
Nicole Franklin has joined the firm as a senior associate in the firm’s transport and logistics team in the Queensland capital. She moved from MinterEllison, where she was part of the dispute resolution team for nearly four years.
Colin Biggers & Paisley said that Franklin is an expert in managing legal responses to high-profile matters in the transport industry, including investigations, environmental clean-ups, statutory responsibilities, liability, and dispute resolution. She also has significant experience in maritime law, including contractual responsibilities, legal liabilities, drafting and advising on complex contractual documents, and litigation.
Having worked with Commonwealth and Queensland government departments and agencies, she also has extensive experience in government administrative law, including the conduct of merits and judicial review proceedings, as well as advising on statutory interpretation, government decision-making, and privacy.
“Our transport and logistics team have continued to deliver impressive results for our clients. Nicole's appointment to the practice will no doubt strengthen our ability to provide quality legal advice to our clients,” said Nick Crennan, managing partner.
The firm’s transport and logistics practice has been recently recognised in several legal directories, including Chambers and Partners (Asia Pacific) 2019, Doyle's Guide 2019, the Best Lawyers in Australia 2020 and Legal 500 (Asia Pacific) 2019.
