PwC names new UK legal services head
PwC has named the new leader of its legal services arm in the UK.

Ed Stacey is succeeding Shirley Brookes as the head of the firm’s legal services business in the country. Brookes, who was appointed to the top post in 2013, remains as a partner and will focus on the firm’s largest clients, PwC UK said.

Since 2009, Stacey has been with the “Big Four” firm’s multidisciplinary legal services arm, which was integrated into the UK business of the firm in October 2016. He continues to lead the firm’s employment law practice, a role he’s held since 2012.

Stacey has more than 20 years’ experience in legal services. He came to PwC from the Royal Bank of Scotland. Before that, he was with CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang.

“I’m delighted to be asked to lead our growing multi-disciplinary legal service,” Stacey said. “We have seen exceptional growth across our business in recent years and I am looking forward to leading the next phase of our growth plans. Our aim remains to focus on those areas that complement the services PwC provides more broadly to give our clients holistic, innovative business solutions to their issues.”

PwC, once of the world’s biggest alternative law brands, recently launched a contract lawyer service called Flexible Legal Resources. It established a law firm in Washington in September.

PwC has also been expanding its legal services arm in Hong Kong and in Australia.
