New hotline to revolutionise NFP legal needs

Victorian law firm Moores has launched a legal assistance hotline, Not-For-Profit Assistgiving the NFP sector direct access to lawyers.

Launched in conjunction with Our Community, the new hotline will be available to not-for-profit organisations through an affordable membership program, benefiting both NFP organisations and their members.

Catherine Brooks, principal at Moores, said the initiative will revolutionise the legal sector.

“The legal sector is entrenched in stern tradition, which put frankly, just wasn’t working for us and our clients.  For this reason, we are thrilled to be launching NFP Assist,” she said at the hotline’s launch last week.

“We recognised a real gap in the sector and knew we could help.  We’re making legal services more accessible and affordable.  We’re happy to be sharing our knowledge and building relationships in the sector.”

Moores, a long term supporter of social enterprise, is one of the few firms with a dedicated charity and NFP team.

Denis Moriarty from Our Community said the benefits of the initiative will be wide reaching.

“Lots of people talk about shared value, but this is actually it.  It benefits multiple stakeholders with not-for-profit organisations being the major recipients,” he said.
