Moray & Agnew boosts insurance expertise with senior hires

Moray & Agnew has boosted its insurance expertise with the arrival of new partners Michael Gill and Anthea Karvounaris.

With the new lateral appointments, Moray & Agnew now has 95 partners among its 300 lawyers. Geoffrey Connellan, national managing partner, explained the importance of the appointments to the firm.

“These appointments are a significant addition to our portfolio of insurance law services, particularly in locations other than our Sydney head office,” he said. “Their arrival is another signpost of Moray & Agnew’s commitment to maintaining our position as Australia’s largest specialty insurance practice and providing across-the-board insurance law services to clients across all lines of business and in every Australian jurisdiction.”

Gill joined the firm’s Brisbane office from MinterEllison, where he rose through the ranks to senior associate. He is a specialist in insurance law and litigation, with extensive experience in insurance and risk management and a particular focus on the infrastructure, construction, and mining industries.

Karvounaris, who’s based in Melbourne, made the move from William Roberts Lawyer, where she was a principal. She is known for her insurance litigation work and expertise in all aspects of insurance law. Karvounaris made the move with a team of three lawyers and a paralegal.
