Mills Oakley scores partners from two global giants
Mills Oakley has welcomed two partners from separate global giants, as the firm makes headway in strengthening its end-to-end transactional capability.

Monique Stella transfers from DLA Piper, while Tom Lennox joins from K&L Gates. They follow the appointment of Tony Watson, who was hired last month from Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills.

Stella is a finance and projects specialist with extensive experience documenting financial transactions of clients in Australia and around the world. She has acted for both borrowers and lenders on a range of transactions, including conventional corporate finance and structured finance for power and infrastructure projects. Stella is based in Melbourne and started with the firm last month. She also acts on construction finance projects, such as those for aged care facilities, commercial buildings, and wind farms.

Lennox specialises in structured finance involving real estate, debt, transport assets, and infrastructure. He focuses on drafting and negotiating all types of debt arrangements, which frequently involve cross border structuring issues. Lennox is based in Sydney and started with the firm in May, He regularly works on single and multiple financier facilities and limited recourse finance documentation, including note programs, security arrangements and inter-creditor agreements.

Stella and Lennox have worked with the firm’s team in the past, according to Mills Oakley CEO John Nerurker, “Financing is an integral part of any transaction and Monique has already assisted our property team with the refinancing of a Melbourne CBD property and Tom has assisted our corporate team with a refinancing matter concerning a Sydney client,” he said. “These hires represent a strong strategic fit and we are delighted to welcome Tom and Monique to our firm.”
