M&A pro joins JWS

A corporate law expert has joined Johnson Winter & Slattery (JWS) from a global giant.

Amit Jois has been appointed by the independent firm as partner in Brisbane. He moved from DLA Piper, where he was a special counsel. He was also previously a senior associate at Allens.

Jois, who commenced at the firm on 18 February, is an expert in M&A and is qualified in both Australia and the US. He has extensive experience in advising major companies and investors on significant and strategic public takeovers and schemes of arrangement; private acquisitions and disposals, including competitive sales processes; restructures; strategic alliances; and joint ventures.

He also has extensive experience in industrials, with a particular focus on agribusiness, energy and fuels, transport and logistics, and food.

Peter Slattery, JWS national managing partner, said that Jois brings a wealth of experience in corporate advisory transactions.
