Maddocks reinforces construction group with new special counsel

Maddocks has reinforced its construction and projects group with a new special counsel.

Sefton Warner has joined the firm in Melbourne, moving from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was also special counsel. Warner has extensive front-end construction experience, having advised both the public and private sectors in major projects for the past 10 years.

“One of Sefton’s great strengths is the experience and knowledge he has gained working on some of the biggest PPP projects of the past decade,” said partner Simone Holding, who heads Maddocks’ construction and projects team in Melbourne.

Andrew Pitney, the firm’s national construction and projects group head, said that Warner’s hire is strategic.

“With the appointment of Sefton and of special counsel Catherine Baxter in Sydney late last year, we are continuing to grow and build on our capacity and capability in infrastructure and major projects,” he said.

Baxter moved to Maddocks from Ashurst in November.
