Macpherson Kelley has recruited a veteran employment and safety lawyer to boost its Brisbane outpost.

John-Anthony Hodgens has joined the firm as a workplace relations consultant. He brings more than two decades’ experience working with a wide array of clients, including in the construction, transport, health, government, resources, manufacturing, education, and retail sectors.

Hodgens is a former partner at Gadens, where he was employment and safety practice leader in Brisbane. He also served in the Australian Army.

“His professional experience, legal knowledge and effective commercial solutions complement our existing national workplace relations team,” said Steve Parker, Macpherson Kelley chief executive.

The firm has doubled the size of its Brisbane office in the last year.
