LegalVision acquires Cooee arm

The legaltech firm has launched a new service with the purchase of the subscription legal services business

LegalVision acquires Cooee arm
LegalVision has acquired the subscription legal services arm of Cooee.

With the acquisition, the legal technology firm has launched a new employment relations advisory service. The new offering provides on-demand employment law services to start-ups, small-to-medium enterprises, and corporate clients.

“The subscription service provides legal advice and documents to support employers at a fraction of the cost of traditional legal providers,” LegalVision said.

LegalVision said that the acquisition helps the company with its goal of offering greater cost-certainty, value, and efficiency to its growing client base. Cooee’s employment subscription service, which gives clients end-to-end workplace relations services, is also delivered through an online model.

“There is a clear and tested market for employment law subscription services,” said Lachlan McKnight, LegalVision CEO. “This acquisition offers the perfect opportunity for us to show how a law firm can deliver quality legal services on a subscription model. We have already started planning how to roll out the model to cover other key areas of corporate and commercial law.”

The acquisition is LegalVision’s second acquisition in four years of operation. It acquired CapacityHQ, a consultant lawyer marketplace, in 2015.
