King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has added a cross-border finance expert in Hong Kong from a Magic Circle firm.
The Sino-Australian giant has appointed Katherine Ke as partner in its banking and finance practice. She moved from Clifford Chance, where she was most recently counsel.
This year, KWM has welcomed in Hong Kong partners Rachel Yu from Herbert Smith Freehills, Ashley Wong from Mayer Brown, and Wang Yu from Morrison & Foerster.
Ke, who is native in Mandarin and fluent in English, adds to KWM more than 15 years’ experience in advising Chinese and multinational clients on cross-border finance.
She represents lead arrangers, lenders, sponsors and corporates in a wide range of inbound and outbound matters, including syndicated loans, as well as project, structured, trade, and receivables finance.
“Katherine’s addition will strengthen our existing finance practice. The combination of Katherine and Ashley Wong’s experience will allow us to capture the opportunities in cross-border asset finance work as Hong Kong progresses in its development as an international financial centre and an international aviation hub,” said Richard Mazzochi, the firm’s head of banking and finance in Hong Kong.
