Kemp Strang furthers finance savvy with Magic Circle recruit
Kemp Strang has boosted its banking, property, and finance team with a recruit from a Magic Circle firm.

The firm, which specialises in commercial law, has appointed Scott Cameron as partner in Brisbane. He comes from the Moscow office of Magic Circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Michael Joseph, Kemp Strang managing partner, said that Cameron has extensive experience in financing transactions across three continents and multiple industries.

“Scott’s practice focus is advising financial institutions, sponsors, corporate borrowers, trading houses, agents and trustees, and national and multi-lateral organisations across a wide range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions. He has also assisted clients with debt restructurings and secondary debt trading,” Joseph said.

In June, Kemp Strang hired partner Kevin Pringle from Gadens, and recruited consultant Ivan Oshry from his own law firm. Earlier this year, the firm appointed three new consultants – Rodd Peters, Tony O'Reilly, and Douglas Linnette – to the firm’s Sydney office.

The appointment comes at a time of continued change in the firm, Joseph said.

“Over the last four years our firm has undergone, and continues to undergo, significant transformation and development,” he said.
