HSF elevates 34 to senior associate
Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) has made up 34 lawyers to senior associate in Australia.

More than half of the new associates are women, which reflects the firm’s commitment to diversity, HSF said. The promotions follow the appointment of 21 partners, including six in Australia, across the firm’s network last month.

Sue Gilchrist, the firm’s Australia and Asia regional managing partner, said that the new senior associates were chosen for their commitment to client service, quality legal and business advice, and leadership.

The lawyers, who represent all of the firm’s offices in Australia – Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney – will assume their new roles on July 01. The lawyers come from the firm’s corporate; disputes; competition, regulation, and trade; employment, pensions, and incentives; finance, real estate, and projects; and pro bono practices.
