Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) has grown its senior ranks with the promotion of six new partners and four new special counsel.
The promotions, evenly split between male and female lawyers, represent a wide range of core practice areas, including disputes and investigations, corporate advisory, competition and regulation, technology and digital, energy and resources, real estate, and IP.
The firm’s newly promoted partners are Rebecca Dunn, Melissa Fai, Philippa Hofbrucker, Tim Kennedy, Kevin Ko, and Matt Mackenzie.
Dunn specialises in IP litigation and technology disputes and is also known for her social media, privacy, data protection, and defamation expertise.
Fai has a focus on complex commercial and technology transactions and is also an expert in data and privacy and the use of technology and data in meeting legislative and business requirements.
Hofbrucker, who is an expert in disputes and investigations, has extensive experience advising clients in Australia and the UK. She has particular expertise in financial services clients and matters, including regulation and compliance.
Kennedy is known for his work on projects and transactions in energy and resources, with a focus on power, renewables, and oil and gas. He has extensive experience in project development, M&A, joint ventures, and offtake agreements.
Ko advises on strategic M&A and corporate transactions, specialising in friendly and hostile public takeovers, schemes of arrangement, private M&A, ECM transactions, and general corporate and securities law matters.
Mackenzie is a specialist in complex, commercially significant disputes, litigation and regulatory enforcement actions, with extensive experience in large-scale, high-profile proceedings that include class actions and critical and sensitive regulatory matters.
The firm’s new special counsel are disputes and investigation experts Edward Martin and Patrick Tydde, real estate and projects specialist Joanne Bayes, and competition and regulation expert Liana Witt.
