Global firm re-elects chairwoman

Jami McKeon will serve a second five-year term as chairwoman of Morgan Lewis after the partnership unanimously voted for her re-election.

McKeon said that serving as chair of the firm over the past several years has been a privilege and that she is excited to continue to lead the organisation

“During my 37 years at Morgan Lewis, I have been lucky to have the best of colleagues and the best of clients. I am proud of the things we have accomplished together and optimistic about what we will continue to accomplish in the future,” she said.

Andy Lipman, lead member of the firm’s advisory board and head of the telecommunications, media, and technology practice, said that the board is delighted that the firm will benefit from McKeon’s “inspiring, steady leadership” for another five years.

“Her relentless focus on anticipating and meeting client needs will continue to be our guiding star as we make strategic investments in practice development and human capital,” Lipman said.

McKeon has been with Morgan Lewis since 1981 and previously led the litigation practice, which is the firm’s largest group. She is one of the few women leading a global law firm that’s also one of the largest in the US.  She oversees more than 2,200 lawyers and legal professionals based in 30 offices around the world.

Under her watch, the firm welcomed more than 750 lawyers and professional staff from Bingham McCutchen. The firm has also established a key hub in Singapore and opened or expanded in Hong Kong, China, and Japan.
