Global firm hires disputes resolution expert
DLA Piper has appointed Tom Ritchie as its newest Litigation & Regulatory special counsel in its Brisbane office. Ritchie joins the global firm from McCullough Robertson, where he was senior associate for more than four years.

Ritchie specialises in corporate and commercial litigation and managing significant and complex disputes across various industries, including the energy and resources sectors. In his practice, he has focused on corporate disputes, contractual and quasi-contractual disputes, breaches of competition and consumer protection legislation and tax disputes. He also advises clients on corporate governance and compliance matters.

He is a solicitor at the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. Ritchie finished his bachelor of arts and bachelor of laws from the University of Queensland. He has master of laws degree from Bond University.

Liam Prescott, DLA Piper’s Litigation & Regulatory location head in Brisbane, said the lawyer has a “very strong reputation with clients, the profession and the Queensland bar.” He said Ritchie’s experience in complex contractual disputes and government prosecutions will bolster the firm’s Queensland and Australian Litigation & Regulatory groups.
