The senior lawyers are among the 11-strong group promoted by the firm
Two new partners have been appointed by Gadens in Brisbane.
Barbara-Ann Sim and Brad Marland have both been promoted from director to partner in the national firm’s latest promotion round, which also includes nine other lawyers.
Joining Gadens in 2010, Sim is a specialist in commercial litigation, dispute resolution, and insolvency. She provides advice in enforcement strategy, recovery options, and banking and finance litigation for a wide range of clients, including major banks. Sim previously worked in a federal government department.
Part of the property and construction group, Marland is an expert in commercial, industrial, retail, and residential property. His experience includes acting on sales and acquisitions, developments, joint ventures, options, and property issues. He joined Gadens in 2016.
Gadens has also promoted Karen Greenwood and James Mitchell to special counsel. Both are with the firm’s property and construction practice. Promoted to director is Jacqueline Ogden, who specialises in litigation.
Gadens also elevated five lawyers to senior associate. They are Lara Cresser (corporate advisory), Andrew Mackenzie (property and construction), Denise Sheehan (property and construction), Evelyn Smith (banking and finance), and Christina Venardos (banking and finance). Promoted to associate is Daniel Wangatau (banking and finance).
