The firm has just made its third partner appointment in as many weeks
Gadens is on a hiring binge in Sydney.
The firm has hired Dermott Lynch, who returns to the firm joining its disputes team in Sydney. He comes from London, where he operated his own legal practice for 10 years, specialising in commercial litigation, international arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
Lynch’s arrival marks the third appointment Gadens has made in Sydney in three weeks. Earlier this month, the firm hired partner James Roland from TurksLegal. Among last week’s flurry of hires from Henry Davis York (HDY) was Kathy Merrick and her team. She joined Gadens after leading HDY’s corporate and regulatory investigations and disputes team.
In September, Gadens hired partner Brett Feltham. He joined the firm’s Sydney office from DLA Piper.
Grant Scott-Hayward, Gadens CEO, said Dermott is an exciting appointment for the firm.
“He offers specific multiple jurisdiction and sector expertise, and is skilled in providing clients with legal solutions through conventional and innovative litigation processes and funding arrangements. Dermott will play a key role in progressing our growth and development strategy in the Sydney market,” he said.
Lynch commenced his legal career with Gadens at the turn of the century. He then moved on to Norton Rose Fulbright before his stint as a sole practitioner. He acts for a wide variety of clients, including private equity firms, public companies, hedge funds, and financial services companies.
