Gadens continues Sydney growth with new property partner

The Gadens partnership has welcomed Archie Smith, who joins from Kemp Strang where he was a partner for 12 years.

The new member of the firm’s property, construction, and planning group adds to the growth of the firm’s Sydney operations. In recent months, partners Brett Feltham, James Roland, Kathy Merrick, Dermott Lynch, Robert Tracy, Ted Nixey, and Michael Bampton have joined the firm in the city.

“Archie's appointment is an important step for the expansion of our ‘Property, Construction & Planning Group’ in Sydney,” said Grant Scott-Hayward, Gadens’ CEO.

Smith is a specialist in property, leasing, and finance. Dual-qualified in NSW and Scotland, he acts for major property developers in the acquisition, disposal, and structuring of commercial and industrial properties. He also acts on mixed-use and multi-stage developments, subdivisions, strata titlings, and landholder projects. Smith is also experienced in complex leasing and licensing, portfolio sale, and property finance.

Scott-Hayward said that the firm expects Smith to strengthen not only its property, construction, and planning group, but also add expertise to its corporate, employment advisory, and insolvency practices.

Gadens now has more than 700 employees, including 93 partners.
