Gadens Brisbane has added a new special counsel to its property and construction team.

Brent Turnbull has joined the firm from commercial law specialist firm Broadley Rees Hogan, where he was special counsel for more than two years. Prior to that, he was senior associate at HWL Ebsworth for nearly seven years.

Turnbull’s practice covers front-end, back-end, and regulatory matters. He has more than 10 years’ experience in the construction sector, including ‘flat land’ residential, low-rise and hi-rise residential, mixed-use projects, water, port, road and rail infrastructure projects and projects in the mining sector.

He also sits on the Building Dispute Practitioners Society’s Queensland committee.

In August, Gadens Brisbane appointed Rachel Sciascia as partner of the corporate advisory practice. Sciascia was a special counsel at DibbsBarker. That same month, former DLA Piper HR manager Terri Smith also joined Gadens Brisbane.

Last month, Gadens hired former DLA Piper partner Brett Feltham in Sydney.
