Firm acts on billion-dollar notes issue

A cross-border team has acted on the largest Kangaroo Note Issue in 2015.

A Norton Rose Fulbright team has acted for the Sydney branch of the Royal Bank of Canada on a five-year $1.1bn Kangaroo Note Issue under its Australian Debt Issuance Program.

This latest issue makes the Royal Bank of Canada the largest issuer in the Kangaroo market so far this year, having now dispensed $2.3bn of fixed and floating notes.

“Royal Bank of Canada has established itself as a leading issuer in the Kangaroo market and this transaction shows the continued appetite amongst fixed income investors for top issuers,” said partner Tessa Hoser, who led the Sydney team on the transaction.
“We are delighted to be able to act again for RBC in another $1b-plus transaction.”

The Notes, issued last Friday, form part of the bank’s US$40bn global Program for the Issuance of Securities.

The Sydney team worked with a London Norton Rose Fulbright team, led by partner Peter Noble.
