Maddocks is bolstering its employment, safety, and people team with a seasoned lawyer.
Sydney-based Maree Skinner will join the firm’s partnership. She will move from DibbsBarker in early May.
The appointment brings on board a partner with more than two decades’ experience. She started her legal career at MinterEllison in Sydney in 1995, before she moved to London and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 1998. She moved back to MinterEllison in 2001 and joined Clayton Utz in 2005. She joined DibbsBarker in 2009 as a special counsel and became a partner at the firm in 2013.
Skinner’s practice covers the full range of employment law, including matters that arise from commercial transactions, restructurings, and receiverships. She is also an expert in industrial relations matters, including enterprise agreements and industrial disputes and Fair Work Ombudsman audits, investigations, and prosecutions.
“Maree has an outstanding reputation as a leading employment law practitioner and will be a great addition to what is already a well-respected team,” said Bruce Heddle, who heads Maddocks’ employment, safety, and people team in Sydney. “I have worked alongside Maree at previous firms and I have seen first-hand the level of skill, service and care she brings to her client relationships.”
Maddocks CEO Michelle Dixon said that one of the reasons for the firm’s growth has been its targeted recruitment of partners, who bring with them technical excellence and outstanding client service.
“Maree is a great fit for us on both accounts,” Dixon said.
Maddocks recently appointed a partner and special counsel from a global firm in Sydney. In January, the firm also welcomed a special counsel in Melbourne.
