DLA Piper snags Withers’ HK employment chief
DLA Piper has scored a major hire from Withersworldwide in Hong Kong.

The global firm has hired Helen Colquhoun as partner and has tasked her to lead the firm’s employment team in Hong Kong.

Colquhoun rose up the ranks in her 18 years at Withers, where she was most recently special counsel and head of the employment practice.

As a specialist in employment law, she has expertise in both frontend and backend issues, particularly in providing multi-jurisdictional advice.

She acts in restructurings, managing employee hiring and terminations, advising on secondment and expatriate arrangements, and drafting remuneration schemes, contracts, and handbooks, DLA Piper said.

“We are impressed with Helen's drive and her experience servicing clients in multiple jurisdictions. Her know-how is also a great asset to both our team and our clients. As Hong Kong is one of our key jurisdictions in Asia, we are thrilled to have Helen on board,” said Tim Marshall, DLA Piper’s joint global head of employment.

Colquhoun said she was very attracted to DLA Piper’s global platform and its team.
