DLA Piper, Greenberg Traurig get KWM EUME teams

by |
Teams of lawyers have reportedly agreed to transfer to DLA Piper and Greenberg Traurig from the beleaguered King & Wood Mallesons Europe, UK and Middle East arm.

The teams include top billers, according to a report from Legal Business, and the exits follow the spate of top lawyers who have already agreed with other firms regarding their transfers.

Real estate partner William Naunton – described as a “significant biller” who billed about $6.75 million for KWM EMUE last year – is going to DLA Piper. He will reportedly become the co-head of the UK real estate group at his new firm.

Naunton will be joined by members of his team including partners Cornelius Medvei, Bryan Pickup, Ed Page, George Burrha and Jeremy Brooks, said the UK publication.

Managing associate Omer Maroof also joins as a partner, the report noted. They and eight other lawyers and three trainees are expected to join the global firm mid-January.

Meanwhile, Greenberg Traurig is said to have picked up Clive Jones who joined KWM alongside Naunton in late 2014. Also going to the New York-headquartered biglaw are private equity funds partners Steven Cowins and Marc Snell, M&A partners Michael Goldberg and David Fitzgerald and partner Matthew Priday, and their teams.

According to Legal Business, Cowins is one of the top billers at KWM EUME.
